McGovern Centennial Gardens
Houston, Texas
a vibrant whirlwind of color.
From a last-minute tent decision to a show-stopping display of floral design, Eliza and Robert’s wedding at McGovern Centennial Gardens was truly unforgettable. Set against one of Houston’s most stunning and distinctive garden backdrops, our vision was to infuse Eliza’s playful, funky style into a design that left guests captivated from the moment they walked into the space. To this day, I still reference their wedding as the perfect example of why hiring a wedding planner truly matters. Although we had a very specific vision of how we wanted to execute the day, Texas decided to remind us who’s really in charge of outdoor weddings {ha!}. However, thanks to countless hours of prep, we were more than ready for those last-minute curveballs 72 hours before the wedding!
Texas weather… always keeping us on our toes! We made the decision to bring in a clear-top tent just in case a surprise shower decided to join the party. Last-minute changes like this can feel a little like herding cats but luckily, we had an all-star vendor dream team ready to make the chaos look effortless. With our venue and rental partners in sync, we managed to keep Eliza’s playful, colorful vision alive (and let’s be honest, it probably looked even better than we imagined!)I often tell clients that my number one goal is to be their support system—a steady hand to lean on throughout the wedding planning journey. It’s moments like these, when last-minute surprises pop up, that this role really comes to life. Unexpected weather or other hiccups might feel stressful, but that’s exactly where we shine: turning potential chaos into a positive, and keeping the day as joyful and seamless as they imaginedBeneath Houston’s starry sky and a gentle, unexpected drizzle, Eliza and Robert spent an evening among family and friends, creating a night that will shine brightly in their memories for years to come. The string lights of our clear-top tent filled a space that was surrounded in vibrant elegance, joy and a hint of Houston charm. It was an evening to remember and one we know we won't forget!Cheers to Eliza + Robert!XX Amy
